Born on 22 August 1990, she did her schooling from Godhula Brown Memorial English High School in Sivasagar, Assam. She completed her graduation in B.com and later did course in Jewellery Designing and Development from National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi. The actress rose to fame after she portrayed the role of “Gopi Ahem Modi” in Star Plus’s popular serial “Saath Nibhaana Saathiya”. - In the year 2015, she got into a catfight with her co-star Loveleen Kaur Sasan who plays Paridhi in serial Saath Nibhana Saathiya. It was said that she was insecure with Loveleen’s entry who had replaced her friend Rucha Hasabnis (played character of Rashi).
- Next year in January, media reports alleged that the sets of Saath Nibhana Saathiya was haunted and Devoleena confirmed the same. She said in an interview that all the cast and crew had negative influence due to some paranormal activities on the sets.
- In same month of 2016, she made headlines after she landed in controversy with actor Vishal Singh (played the role of Jigar). The two of them had an infamous showdown over her behavior with senior actor Vandana Vithlani (who played Urmila). However, both of them have settled their differences after few months.
- In October 2016, she accused actress Utkarsha Naik who played Pramila for kidnapping her dog from the sets. Only because she was not able to find her pet on the sets, she filed a complaint against her to PETA.
- In 2018, she was summoned by Mumbai’s Pant Nagar Police in the murder case of diamond trader. Her name popped up after her phone number was found in Rajeshwar Udhani’s phone. However, later she was declared safe after a normal investigation.
